The Royal Academy London

I am delighted to share that my Lithograph ‘Where Are We Now’ (on somerset soft white 300gsm 60x49cms) is now at the summer show at The Royal Academy in London, in a fab room hung by @eileen_cooper_ra.

The exhibition is open from 13th June – 20th August 2023.

There are a few prints left to buy from a run of 25. Go see go see go see.

Many thanks to the brilliant @catherineadeartist for her patience, printing and plate skills @lemonadelitho in #Bristol.

So here is the story …… The hand printed lithograph (and the large painting of the same name) was inspired and is a homage to #artemisia Gentileschi’s ‘Judith and her Maidservant with the head of Holofernes’.c.1625

However Instead of Holofernes head in its wicker basket there is a mix of masks, bread, tampons, books, weapons and vaccines positioned in a supermarket basket: All a girl needs to survive in a ‘toxic’ environment….. eh! Judith and her servant Abra are transformed into Danielle (as Judith) and her friend my daughter Madeleine (as the servant Abra).
